Oh, Baby!

Springtime always makes me revert back to childhood a little.  My sister and I LOVED playing outside together.  We loved dressing up in springtime outfits, we loved Easter egg hunts, we loved it all.  One of my favorite parts of spring are the flowers that come alive.  Lawns get a little greener, and gardens get a little more colorful.  Andrew and I went on a walk last night and our whole street just looked... happier!  Colors, flowers, and big, full, green bushes were everywhere!

So in honor of childhood, of spring, of flowers, and of the newness that each season of life brings with it...

Introducting Two's Company Crafts

As you may have noticed, the name of the blog has changed!  Over the past several months, I have blogged less and less and crafted more and more.  There just has not been enough time to do both!  So... as my mom and I are becoming more busy with crafting, we decided it only made sense to tie the crafting and blogging together. Although my mom and I have been crafting together for years, we have only recently begun getting our act together in order to market and sell our little creations! So... my mom and I are now "Two's Company."

Over the weekend, we made an appearance at Medina Middle School's FIRST EVER Spring Sting craft fair and had a great day!  Everyone we met there was so sweet and encouraging.

Here is a little recap of the day:

Our next appearance will be at Bark in the Park in Lebanon, TN on Saturday, May 5th from 11am-5pm!  It will be a day filled with lots of shopping, food, pet photography, and even pet microchipping.  Come out and bring your pet... mine will be there!  (:

And while I am on a roll, hop on over to our Etsy account for a quick look-see!

Cupcake Garden

Last year around this time, I made these cupcakes:

This year, I wanted to do something a little different, but equally easy!

Hence, these!

All you need are the suckers of your choice, sprinkles, green and white icing, and a leaf tip.

Then you can bag the cupcakes up and send them on their way!

Doesn't get much simpler than that.

Spring Crafting

The weather we had here last week was unbelievably pretty and warm.  I knew that its staying that way for long was just too much to hope for, so instead of lugging all my spring clothes out of the attic, I made this wreath!
Behold my tribute to gorgeous spring weather.  :)

BEFORE:
AFTER:

 A little hot glue...
 Buttons...
 Fabric scraps...
 And voila!

This was a very quick and easy project.  Next time I make one, I will do a few things differently in an effort to make some minor improvements, but overall, I was pleased with the result.  I just used things I already had at home, but next time I will add MORE fabric, and probably some ribbon.  The beauty of this project: no sewing involved!

It's a good thing I held off on those spring clothes, because of course, it is now cool and rainy out. Guess the wreath will keep me company inside the house for a few more weeks before taking its place on the front door.

What A Good Friday

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."

No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn.- Hal Borland

There are an abundance of reasons I cannot wait until Springtime:

1) I can say goodbye to my winter coats until next year (FINALLY)!
2) With Spring comes... EASTER! :)
3) I can wear flip-flops, thus showing off the ridiculously expensive new nail polish I have recently acquired (that I would never buy if it were not for a sister who is in cosmetology school).
4) I am graduating from college (and this event is accompanied by a host of emotions other than just excitement... Maybe I will get into those details some other time)!
5) I am going to WASHINGTON, DC!

This list could go on, but I will stop here and highlight Reason #5, which will be occurring in 43 days. The following list was compiled based upon the best interest of all members of the traveling party. We all realize that there is much more to see in our nation's great capital; however, we will be pinched for time, and three of the four of us have been to D.C. in the past. In light of this, we were able to opt out of doing and seeing a few of the things that we have done and seen previously. Here are the must sees of the trip:

  • Lincoln Memorial
  • World War II Memorial
  • Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall
  • Arlington National Cemetery
  • Korean War Veterans Memorial
  • Jefferson Memorial
  • Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial
(and all other memorials in the surrounding area)
  • Washington Monument
  • Holocaust Museum
  • National Archives Building
  • National Museum of American History
  • American Art Museum
  • Ford Theatre
  • Lincoln Theatre
(other Smithsonians are optional dependent upon time)
  • Williamsburg (which will require a full day)
  • Mount Vernon, home of George Washington
In honor of this upcoming adventure, here are some precious pictures:

Spring Break!

This will be the last you will hear from me until this time next week! Andrew and I are going to Panama City, Florida for Spring break. We are going with three other couples, and staying in a condo by the beach. We are leaving early this morning, and we will return next Saturday. I cannot wait to be able to step outside without feeling so cold that I think my toes are gonna freeze off!

According to the ten day forecast, we may be in for a little rain, but that is okay with me! I would pick rain over cold any day of the week, and any time of the year! Plus, it will give me a chance to wear the new rain jacket that my mom bought me from Forever 21!

Just for sentimental purposes, here is a flashback to Spring Break last year:

I leave you with this lovely thought for the week....

"The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."- Zephaniah 3:17
